Jeffery was trained to be a multi-genre pianist/keyboardist from a young age studying jazz theory and arranging from Eddy Kozak (feature marimba with Xavier Cugat, famed Latin band leader) and began playing professionally at age 15 with the Bill Causey Big Band (Shreveport, LA) accompanying artists such as Brook Benton.  At age 14, he began big band arranging for contestants in the Louisiana pageant system which lead in later years to arranging orchestral charts for Ms. America, Cheryl Pruett Blackwood. Later in his thirties, Jeffery studied jazz studies with Ellis Marsalis at University of New Orleans and today plays and orchestrates for all styles for clients at his studio, GratitudeRoad Studios (San Antonio, TX)
